Our Team - Who Are We?

We would like to introduce you to the key members of the Merlot Construction team.

Peter Deall - CEO and Managing Director

Peter is qualified from the University of Sydney in Civil & Structural Engineering.

His early career involved working for Advanced Building Systems to introduce the tilt-up building system. He rose to National Manager and opened successful branches in Qld, Victoria and agencies in various regional areas. Tilt-up became the most popular method of industrial construction nationwide.

He joined his most successful client as general manager and spent four years in industrial construction until the deep recession of 1990.

No industrial construction activity moved him into the recession resistant Club industry.

In 1994, Peter started Merlot Constructions with a co-director and launched into design and construction, performing over $6 to $12million per year for ten years.

Peter took over Merlot himself in 2005 and has guided the client base to repeat work from a small group of successful growing Clubs.

By working very closely with customers he was able to be involved closely with their growth plans and their financial success.

The serious challenges that have battered the Club industry have sent many Clubs to the wall.

The hand in hand teamwork with Merlot’s Clubs has created intelligent attractive projects with a deliberate emphasis on financial success.

Gianfranco (John) Nardone - Design and Construct Manager

John has over forty years’ experience in construction. Clients like the fact that he is so well informed because of the depth and variety of his outstanding career.

After over 100 design and construct projects successfully completed John can direct the junior team members with authority and fantastic expertise.

Converting an architect’s creative inspirational concept into a building that fits together and is great value for money is a talent that takes decades to hone. John has it and has endered himself to many appreciative clients, from Parramatta Leagues Club to 99 on York Club as well as dozens of clients in the country areas.
